a refreshing change of style from the usual genres of this contest. LABS drums are great!... sometimes. Honestly for stuff like this I would go for something a bit crisper, there are some cheap options out there (also by Spitifre Audio!) like abe laboriel jr drums. i would def check it out

[Illusion Of Fear]

One of the best things I've had the pleasure of listening to while judging NGUAC '21. Everything just comes together extremely well. While maybe slightly pretentious, I think the spoken word passages are implemented perfectly and creatively. The mix is great, all of the instruments sound great, its all just really quite spot on. And that Dream Theatre-esque midsection was fabulous! Fantastic job on this

I felt the spoken words would be a bit cliched and pretentious, but the deadline was nearing and I just went with it, hoping it wouldn't put people off! This is also my first mix I'm really proud of and the DT-like mid section is my personal favorite in the song! ^_^ Thank you very much again, so glad you liked it!

Likely my favourite submission I've judged from Round 1 of NGADM '21, with the middle section being a real highlight for me. While some of the orchestral sections are a little cheap sounding, what you include here (with a CONCEPT as well) makes up for that. Stellar work

[Embracing the Dark]

Really unique peice. Even if the mixing is a bit off, I love the energy you throw at us with the drums and violin. Such a great blend of sounds overall.
